FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS ...
Can girls make and bring SWAPS for this event?
Absolutely! Not only does MPE encourage the Girl Scout tradition of trading SWAPS, we actually have a SWAP contest for girls who choose to participate and bring SWAPS to the event to trade!
When will I know what the campers need to bring with them?
When you are successfully registered, you'll receive an e-mail with the packing list for the event.
Will the 6th-12th grade girls be provided with tents to sleep in overnight?
Unfortunately, the Mojave program does not provide tents for the girls to sleep in. We recommend small tents (7'x7') since this is a very windy, unprotected area as it is oceanfront. Larger tents that are not well staked have been known to get caught in the wind gusts and be blown away, caught by the facility's perimeter fencing! There also have been reports of broken tent poles in larger tents. You can purchase inexpensive tents from several sources, including Big 5, Amazon, Wal-Mart, Target, etc. You can also check with other troops in your service unit to see if you can borrow tents from them. Remember, with Covid, the council has placed a 75% capacity limit on tent capacity so these smaller tents will only hold 2 girls from a troop. Individual girls attending without their troop will need to each provide their own tents.
